Seeing the Leaning Tower didn’t need a ticket the ticket for climbing up the tower cost 18 euros you could also use the ticket to visit the cathedral. So taxi is not a bad deal even for a couple as it went straight to the site in about 5 minutes. The city bus cost 2 euros per person per ride. After arriving at Pisa Centrale train station, it was confusing to find which bus went to the Leaning Tower, so we just took a taxi that asked for 6.5 euros for a couple and 8 euros for four people. It seemed that after 10 am, there was only one train each hour from Livorno to Pisa. So I just took the cruise shuttle that cost 6 euros per person round trip to and from the Livorno train station this saved some time and anxiety. I was told that it was a 15 minutes walk to the town’s cathedral where you could take a city bus to city center or the train station. First, the cruise dock was quite far away from the town. I actually ended up spending about four hours in Pisa. I was so glad that I didn’t try to visit both Florence and Pisa on the same day. Then I hurt my feet from frantic running around in Rome the day before, and I figured I wouldn’t be able to survive another day of walking miles. I had researched a lot about how to get to Florence and Pisa in one day and had thought I could pull it off. I had wanted to go to Florence to see this famous spot of Renaissance and to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower. Our cruise ship arrived at Port Livorno from 7 am and departed at 7 pm.
